    MRO Engineer (DER Part 32) - Direct/Contract - Kirkland, WA - 0120

    A Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) Engineer, also known as a Reliability Engineer or Maintenance Engineer, plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of industrial and manufacturing facilities. Their primary responsibility is to optimize equipment and machinery reliability, minimize downtime, reduce maintenance costs, and enhance overall operational efficiency.

    Job Summary:

    The MRO Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to maintain, repair, and optimize industrial equipment and machinery to ensure uninterrupted production and minimize operational disruptions. This role involves analyzing equipment performance, planning and executing maintenance programs, identifying opportunities for improvement, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Equipment Maintenance and Repair:

    Conduct regular inspections and assessments of machinery and equipment to identify issues and maintenance needs.

    Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans to extend equipment lifespan and reduce breakdowns.

    Coordinate and oversee equipment repairs and maintenance activities, both in-house and through external contractors.

    Reliability Improvement:

    Analyze equipment performance data, failure reports, and maintenance records to identify trends and root causes of failures.

    Develop strategies to enhance equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and improve overall operational efficiency.

    Implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) principles to prioritize critical assets and maintenance tasks.

    Spare Parts Management:

    Maintain an inventory of critical spare parts and components to ensure quick repairs and minimize production downtime.

    Develop and manage a spare parts procurement and stocking strategy to optimize costs while meeting maintenance needs.

    Budget and Cost Management:

    Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources.

    Identify opportunities for cost savings through improved maintenance practices and process efficiencies.

    Collaboration and Training:

    Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, production, and safety, to align maintenance activities with organizational goals.

    Train and mentor maintenance technicians and other staff on best practices, safety protocols, and equipment operation.

    Documentation and Reporting:

    Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance activities, repairs, and performance data.

    Prepare regular reports on equipment reliability, maintenance KPIs, and recommendations for improvement.

    Health and Safety Compliance:

    Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and industry standards.

    Implement safety protocols and conduct risk assessments to minimize workplace hazards.

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

    Relevant work experience in maintenance engineering or a similar role in an industrial or manufacturing setting.

    Strong knowledge of equipment maintenance practices, reliability engineering principles, and predictive maintenance techniques.

    Proficiency in maintenance management software and computer-aided maintenance tools.

    Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

    Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

    Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.
