Job Purpose:
- The MS Therapist - Registered Intern is responsible for providing high-quality therapeutic services to clients under the supervision of a licensed therapist. The role involves assisting clients with mental health issues by using evidence-based therapeutic techniques to support their emotional and psychological well-being. The intern will gain valuable experience in a clinical setting, contributing to the overall mission of the center to improve the lives of individuals and families through compassionate care and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial assessments and assist in developing individualized treatment plans for clients.
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions under the supervision of a licensed therapist.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care for clients.
- Participate in regular supervision and training sessions to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
- Assist in crisis intervention and management as needed.
- Uphold ethical standards and confidentiality in all client interactions and documentation.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated with the latest therapeutic practices and research.
Required Education:
- Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Current registration as an intern with the appropriate state licensing board.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of supervised clinical experience in a mental health setting.
- Experience in providing individual and group therapy sessions.
- Familiarity with case management and treatment planning.
- Experience working with diverse populations and age groups.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of mental health disorders and therapeutic techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to build rapport and maintain therapeutic relationships with clients.
- Proficient in maintaining detailed and accurate client records.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases effectively.
