Job Purpose:
- The MS Therapist (Unlicensed) is responsible for providing therapeutic services to clients under supervision. Providing direct treatment services in the form of group, individual, family and psychoeducational counseling to consumers in Substance Abuse Outpatient Program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial assessments to determine client needs and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions under the supervision of a licensed therapist.
- Collaborate with clients to set therapeutic goals and monitor progress.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions and treatment plans.
- Participate in regular supervision and training to enhance professional development and ensure compliance with ethical standards.
- Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for clients.
- Engage in community outreach and education initiatives to promote mental health awareness.
- Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Stay informed about current trends and advancements in the field of mental health therapy.
Required Education:
- Graduation from a licensed and approved college or university holding a Master's degree in a Human Services field required
Required Experience:
- Minimum of two years experience in the substance abuse field/Mental Health field required
- Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic practices and interventions.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of mental health disorders and therapeutic techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all professional activities.
- Proficiency in documentation and record-keeping, ensuring accurate and timely updates to client files.
- Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the changing needs of clients and the organization.
