Job Purpose:
The MA/MS Therapist employee in this position is responsible for providing direct treatment services in the form of group, individual, family and psychoeducational counseling to consumers in Substance Abuse Outpatient Program.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct biopsychosocial assessment, group counseling, individual counseling and psychoeducation. • Provide psychoeducation topics commensurate with knowledge in the substance abuse/mental health field. • Maintain open communication and respect with referral sources • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure effective care. • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions and treatment progress. • Participate in the development and delivery of specific, measurable, active, realistic, and time related treatment plans with consumers motivating the interventions necessary to meet each goal and objective. • Coordinate with other healthcare professionals and community resources to support client needs. • Educate clients and families about mental health conditions and available treatment options. • Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations regarding client care and confidentiality.
Required Education & Experience:
Graduation from a licensed and approved college or university holding a Master's degree in a Human Services field required Minimum of two years experience in the substance abuse field/Mental Health field required Familiarity with therapeutic modalities and techniques applicable to mental health care.
Required Skills and Abilities:
• Strong understanding of mental health disorders and treatment plans. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and colleagues. • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines in all professional interactions. • Proficiency in documentation and record-keeping practices. • Capacity to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently when necessary. • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with the latest advancements in mental health therapy.
