We are looking for a high-energy Infrastructure Technician to support critical technical operations in a secure environment. This role combines physical labor with technical precision, focusing on the deployment of network cabling, the secure movement of high-value hardware, and the rigorous auditing of IT inventory. This is an ideal entry-level path for a cleared professional with a Security+ certification looking to gain firsthand experience in a technical environment.
Responsibilities
- Structured Cabling & Installation: Pull, route, and secure Cat5e, Cat6, and Fiber Optic cabling in both new construction and existing structures with appropriate termination, testing, labeling, and dressing according to site standards and best practices.
- Troubleshoot Layer 1: Trace copper and fiber lines to MDF/IDF closets and network switches, perform testing, investigation, and remediation of identified issues.
- Equipment Relocation & Deployment: Execute secure "move/add/change" (MAC) requests for KVM switches, multi-monitor workstations, and mixed operating system workstations with associated accessories.
- Infrastructure Management: Perform physical installation of equipment into racks, cabinets, and enclosures.
- Conduct basic BIOS configuration and system imaging to ensure hardware is mission ready.
- Inventory & Asset Lifecycle Management: Maintain real-time accuracy of IT asset and consumables logs, ensuring accountability for from staging to disposal. Conduct end-of-day audits and "physical plant" checks to maintain facility quality control. Partner with senior engineers to stage equipment for large-scale deployments.

Required Experience
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years of related experience
- Two years of electronics training from technical trade school or military technical school or two years of computer training as applicable to the job
- U.S. Citizenship required; Active DoD Top Secret Clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information Access (TS//SCI) including Counterintelligence (CI) Scope Polygraph within 180 days of hire date
- CompTIA Security+ CE, ISC2 SSCP, or equivalent baseline security certification.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to lift to 50-75 pounds unassisted.
- Comfortable working at heights (ladders/lifts) and in confined spaces (under desks/server rooms).
- Ability to stand/walk for 8+ hours a day across multi-building facilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct knowledge of and experience with the MSIC customer in daily interactions.
Industry certifications (BICSI, RCDD, or equivalent).
- Familiarity with data center cabling and enterprise infrastructure setups.
- Knowledge of structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA, ANSI, IEEE).
- Understanding of network infrastructure components such as patch panels and switches.
