Carolina Trust Federal Credit Union has a full-time MSR IV (Loan Officer) position available at the Conway branch. Pay: $22.00 - $23.77 (Hourly) Position Overview: To assist members and potential members with their credit union needs directly and through other member service representatives. Provides expertise with respect to more complex credit union services such as IRAs, certificates of deposit, electronic funds transfer, home banking, etc. Explains services, sets up new accounts, responds to problems, and direct members to the appropriate people. Responsible for receiving, reviewing, and processing applications for consumer, home improvement, credit card, and overdraft account loans. Meets with applicants to explain credit policies and to obtain additional loan information and documentation. Assembles and evaluates loan applications and approves those that meet initial lending criteria and are within approved lending limits. Presents loan requests above lending limit for approval as per loan policy. Ensures members and prospective members and promptly and professionally served. Provides federal credit union information and cross sell services. Duties & Responsibilities:
- Interviews, takes applications, gathers information, and processes preliminary documentation on loan requests. - Evaluates and verifies loan applications and credit criteria. Computes debt ratios. Verifies employment and income. Determines value of collateral. Notifies applicants of loan decisions. Requests additional information if required. - Calculates terms, finance charges, and insurance on loans for proper disclosure on promissory notes. - Assists in servicing loans by processing such items as payoff, refinances, problem loan workout arrangements, address changes, payment extensions, collateral releases, and payment due date changes. - Sells credit life and disability, GAP, and warranty insurance. - Ensures lending operations are conducted in accordance with established credit union policies and are legally compliant. Ensures loan requests are properly documented.
- Assists members with opening and closing accounts, answers questions, and resolves problems. - Identifies cross sell opportunities and cross sell services to members. - Acts as liaison between members and various organizations and departments. - Ensures appropriate records are maintained and required reports are prepared.
- Assists other member service representatives and personnel as needed. - Assists in training and cross training. - Completes reports and records promptly and accurately. Inputs loans and all supporting documents as required. - Attends meeting as required. - Keeps management informed of department activities and of any significant problems. Refers problems that are beyond their authority to their supervisors, along with their recommendations.
- Actively and professionally cross sells credit union products and services. - Stays informed regarding local and national economic conditions and legal and regulatory changes/requirements including but not limited to BSA/ALM compliance. - Fills in and performs duties in branch positions as needed. - Ensures proper maintenance, cleanliness, and security of work area, desks, equipment, etc. - Comply with Courtesy Coverage program by following all written procedures set forth by CU management including and knowledge of the program and the ability to communicate the program to members. (All staff should be responsible to attend any required training as it relates to the Courtesy Coverage program.) - Lending functions are effectively performed in accordance with established credit union policies and with legal and regulatory requirements. - Good working relationships exist with other personnel and management. Personnel are assisted as needed. - Required reports are accurate and timely. - Good business relations exist with members. Programs and services are properly and thoroughly explained, and members’ need accurately assessed. Members’ problems are courteously and promptly resolved. - Credit applications and related financial data are closely and effectively analyzed and evaluated. - Personal delinquency write-off numbers are in line with credit union objectives.
