Centerstone’s Virtual Clinic is offering a year-long practicum internship opportunity for first-year MSW students who are interested in community mental health and case management. Interns will work 15–20 flexible hours per week and receive regular supervision from an LCSW and a task supervisor. This placement provides hands-on experience working with clients through case management assessments, resource navigation, and case management-specific service delivery. Interns may also assist with community outreach and advocacy projects, and various administrative tasks. Throughout the internship, students will build skills in social work assessment, case management intervention, documentation, professionalism, ethics, cultural competence, and working with individuals, families, and groups. Ideal candidates are currently enrolled in an MSW program, have strong communication skills, and can commit to the internship for the full academic year.
TENNESSE BASED SOCIAL WORK PROGRAM -Candidates must live in Tennessee.
Unpaid internship
Can I choose my own schedule?
Yes! Interns have a flexible schedule and can work 15–20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, over 2–3 days, allowing them to balance their practicum with classes and other commitments. Scheduling is coordinated with the supervisor to meet both learning and clinic needs.
What kind of clients will I work with?
Interns will work with a diverse client population through the Virtual Clinic. All clients have commercial insurance and present with a wide range of mental health concerns, life challenges, and support needs. This provides opportunities to gain experience working with individuals facing issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, relationship concerns, life transitions, and other behavioral health needs while developing skills in case management assessment, client engagement, case management service provisions, and resource coordination.
