Job Purpose &Position Overview:To perform laboratory testing for WCHS laboratory.This position is a 7 on 7 off position working Wednesday-Tuesday on your week to work. Shift is 7 PM to 730 AM. This position will be Every Other Weekend during the week you work. Holidays will be worked if it is your scheduled shift week. Overtime is earned at >80 hours a pay period. THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE THE ABILITY TO MANAGE WORKFLOW WHILE WORKING INDEPENDENTLY ON OVERNIGHTS. MULTITASKING, ABILITY TO ADJUST PRIORITIES AND RESPONDING TO CODES & TRAUMAS IS ESSENTIAL. Skilled at specimen acquisition. Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities: Demonstrate the Winnebago Tribes core mission, vision, andvalues Under the direct supervision of the Laboratory Manager, the MT/MLTprovides technical support by performing analyses, tests, and procedures thatassist in the prevention, diagnosis, or treatment of diseases. Accessioning/ ordering tests in the Laboratory Information Systems(LIS) and processing specimens with referral to the reference laboratories. Operates, maintains, and calibrates the equipment used to ensure it isoperating efficiently and providing accurate results Performs basictroubleshooting as needed Maintain documentation according to regulatory agencies and writelaboratory policies and procedures. Exposure to infectious clinical specimens on a regular basis, soadherence to sterilization and infection control procedures is required. This position is responsible for using his/her skill, accuracy,proficiency and dedication to work in all laboratory sections performinganalytical testing on patients specimens. Candidate must demonstrate excellent customer service skills. Candidate must be comfortable with routine phlebotomy. Duties listed are onlyan illustration of various types of work performed. The omission of thespecific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar,related, or a logical assignment to the process.Qualifications/Skills: Medical LaboratoryTechnician Must have graduated from an approved school of MedicalTechnology/Laboratory Science with an Associates degree and becertified/registered by one of the following agencies: MLT(ASCP), MLT(AMT),CLT(NCA). Medical Technologist Must have graduated from an approved school of Medical Technology/LaboratoryScience with a bachelors degree and be certified/registered by one of thefollowing agencies: MT(ASCP), MT(AMT), CLS(NCA). Minimum of one year of experience preferred. Knowledge of hospital laboratory practices, including infection controlrequirements, chemical and biological hazards. Knowledge of governmental and regulating policies and standards.Training Requirements: N/A Physical Requirements: Normal to light officework which includes the ability to lift up to 10 lbs. Regularly required towalk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operatecomputer keyboard, phone, and various office equipment. Cognitive Requirements: Reading, writing,calculating Above average socialinteraction skills Reasoning/Analysis Works with minimal to no supervision. Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities when situations change. Language Requirements: Must possess the abilityto read, write, and speak the English language fluently. Must be able tocontinually and effectively employ professional verbal and writtencommunications skills. Certificates,Licenses & Registrations: Allapplicants will comply with 45 CFR 1301, Subpart D, Section 1301.31, C and D,which require all prospective employees to sign a declaration prior toemployment regarding all arrests and convictions of child abuse or violentfelonies and to comply with PL 101-630 and PL 101-637 regarding criminalrecords check.
