A Day in the Life
Start your shift in our advanced Charlotte facility serving Steam Turbine, Large Generator, Gas Turbine, and Combustion Components. You’ll set up and run CNC-controlled equipment—ranging from Horizontal Boring Machines and Laser Drillers to 5-axis mills—then move seamlessly into bonding, heat treatment, and precision manual machining as production demands. You’ll read complex blueprints, pick the right tools and fixturing, and verify quality using advanced metrology before releasing parts that power energy systems around the world.
Your Impact
- Champion our safety-first, quality-driven culture.
- Lift and move up to 50 lbs as part of routine operations.
- Interpret detailed drawings, blueprints, sketches, and specifications to plan machining steps.
- Load/unload components using jib and B/C cranes, forklifts, and other material-handling devices; assist crane operations as needed.
- Operate machinery in accordance with established Siemens Energy procedures and work instructions.
Shifts
- Mon–Thurs: 5:30am–4:00pm
- Mon–Thurs: 4:00pm–2:30am
- Fri–Sun: 5:30am–6:00pm
- Fri–Sun: 5:30pm–6:00am
What You Bring
- Education: High School diploma or GED
- Experience: 3+ years in CNC operations with emphasis on machining; exposure to laser applications and coating machines (specific experience preferred)
- Certifications: Fork truck/crane license (active or ability to obtain immediately upon selection)
- Skills: CNC setup/operation, loading/unloading workpieces, QA adherence, complex metrology, blueprint interpretation, and strong shop math
Assessments & Health Requirements
- Ability to obtain an ACT® WorkKeys® National Career Readiness Certificate (Silver Level or higher) as part of the pre-hire assessment. Siemens Energy will assist in scheduling the test upon shortlisting.
- Ability to wear a respirator and pass a Process Operator Competency Test.
- Must meet standard hearing, vision, and pulmonary function requirements necessary for the role.
