Are You the Machinist Who Sees the Whole Process?
Imagine opening a complex drawing full of GD&T and deciding the smartest path: conversational Mazatrol or Celos, or hand‑crafted G and M code. You fixture the work, upload commands from the server to the CNC, insert control instructions, and bring the cycle online. As chips fly, you’re already measuring, logging data, listening for vibration, watching coolant and lubrication, and planning the next offset tweak. When a tool dulls, you swap it, verify dimensions, and keep the run on spec.
Your Mission
- Program, set up, and operate CNC Horizontal Milling Centers and Boring Mills to machine metal parts to precise specifications while meeting safety and quality goals.
- Translate prints into programs using Mazatrol, Celos, and G/M codes with expert GD&T interpretation; familiarity with Mazatrol 640M, Mazatrol Smooth, Tosnuc, or Celos is a plus.
- Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and workpieces using precision measuring devices and hand tools.
- Start up, monitor, and document machine operations; ensure parts are properly cooled and lubricated throughout cycles.
- Measure finished workpieces; adjust machines and tooling to hold tolerance; remove completed parts and reconfigure setups or workpiece placement per sequence.
- Transfer programs via network links, make offsets and on‑the‑fly program edits, and safeguard data integrity.
- Inspect and sort any nonconforming parts by flaw type (e.g., chipped edges, marred surfaces); correct root causes.
- Detect issues by sound and feel—replace dull tools and eliminate vibration before it affects quality.
Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned as needed.
