Where will I work and when?

You'll be onsite at 338 Valley Rd., Mocksville, NC 27028. This is a second-shift role running 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

What will I actually do each shift?

  • Turn engineering drawings and job instructions into accurate setups, programs, and parts to spec.
  • Set up and operate mills, lathes, grinders, machining centers, and drilling equipment with proper tooling and fixturing.
  • Enter, retrieve, and edit CNC control data; verify via dry runs and in-process checks.
  • Monitor cycles, detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance cuts, and adjust offsets/controls to recover.
  • Use micrometers, calipers, bore/depth/height/feeler gages, and other metrology tools to verify dimensions; rework parts when needed.
  • Partner with supervisors, engineers, and production staff to resolve machining challenges.
  • Follow ISO and safety protocols, including PPE and hoist inspections.
  • Route parts through the manufacturing sequence, update locations in the system, and maintain work orders, production/status logs, and quality records.
  • Participate in team huddles, maintain 5S, hit tight tolerances down to 0.0002 in, and support continuous improvements in cell layout and process flow.
  • Attend monthly department and quarterly town hall meetings.

What experience do I need?

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 2 years of hands-on CNC machining experience

Which capabilities are must-haves?

  • Read/interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, blueprints, memos, and procedures.
  • Communicate clearly in small groups and one-on-one with leaders, customers/clients, and teammates.
  • Perform calculations from 0.0001 to 0.1; convert between metric and U.S. units.
  • Follow detailed written/oral instructions; use structured problem-solving (e.g., 5 Whys) to address multi-variable problems.
  • Physical: stand/walk up to 8 hours; lift 35 lbs solo/70 lbs with assistance; push or pull up to 35 lbs; vision corrected to 20/35 or better.

What would make me stand out?

  • An associate degree or technical certification
  • Confidence with depth, bore, height, and feeler gages; micrometers; calipers; deburring tools; die grinders; drill presses; and overhead lifting gear.

What machines and controls are on the floor?

  • 3–4 axis VMCs (Fanuc, Mazak, Okuma)
  • 2–4 axis CNC lathes (Mazak, Haas, Okuma)
  • 5+ axis VMCs (Fanuc, Mazak, Okuma, Mikron)
  • 5+ axis CNC lathes (Mazak, Okuma)

Any travel?

No travel is anticipated; the role is fully onsite.
