    Description

Shape precision. Grow your craft. Build what matters.

At Trace-A-Matic in Brookfield, WI, you’ll turn complex prints into flawless parts across industries that depend on absolute accuracy. In a clean, climate-controlled shop with modern equipment, you’ll program, set up, and run multi-axis mills and lathes—while helping teammates elevate their game.

    A day in the life

You arrive, review the job traveler, and dial in a setup for a complex part. You run a first-article to print, tweak the program for cycle time and finish, validate with hand metrology, and then kick off production—often managing multiple machines in a cell. Along the way, you coach an operator on repeatable inspection steps and capture notes so the next run is seamless.

    What you’ll handle

    • Program CNC equipment and perform on-the-fly edits for quality and throughput.
    • Set up fully documented repeat work to standardize performance and consistency.
    • Produce and verify first-piece parts to meet blueprint specifications.
    • Read and interpret drawings at a medium-to-advanced level; complete required documentation and inspection sheets.
    • Apply GD&T to hold tight tolerances and ensure conformance.
    • Operate multiple machines within a production cell.
    • Use shop math, including geometry and trigonometry, to solve machining challenges.
    • Mentor operators on repetitive tasks and good measurement practices.
    • Pitch in with other duties to keep production flowing.
