Multi-Cloud Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled professional experienced in cloud services, troubleshooting, and strategic solution design. The role involves operating across multiple cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, and GCP. The candidate will support a secure, enterprise-scale environment with federally regulated compliance requirements, focusing on growth and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement reusable cloud patterns and solutions using Infrastructure as Code for self-service secure delivery.
• Continuously improve compliance and cyber posture through AWS Security Hub CSPM, Config/Cloudtrail, GuardDuty, and integration with Azure Defender.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues within AWS cloud environments, ensuring knowledge transfer and team collaboration.
• Diagnose and address network connectivity issues, maintain security groups, route tables, subnet and VPC allocations, VPNs, and peerings.
• Manage resource costs, budgets, anomalies, and reporting effectively.
• Oversee big data analytics platforms and workloads, managing data tiers intelligently.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information systems or a relevant field and 4 years of practical experience, or a Master's degree and 2 years of practical experience. Additional experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
• Ability to obtain public trust clearance.
• Self-management of work tasks using M365-based tools.
• Proven ability to independently resolve issues and improve operations with a growth mindset.
• Hands-on experience building and architecting multi-cloud networks with secure routing and firewalls.
• Understanding of regulatory controls, baselines, and security policies within AWS cloud environments (CIS benchmarks, STIG, etc.).
• Experience building solutions with CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar tools.

Beneficial Qualifications

• Operational exposure and experience with GCP.
• Experience with containerization technologies and methodologies.

Schedule

This position is hybrid with 90% remote work. Candidates can start while the Public Trust is processing and may begin within two weeks of acceptance, depending on supplies. Initial interviews will be conducted at our Gaithersburg facility.
