Job Summary

The Multi-Craft Technician, Lead is responsible for leading a group of skilled and general maintenance support technicians for the campus to include Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, Carpentry, and Painting. This position also performs the full range of campus-wide operational maintenance and troubleshooting of multi-craft systems such as electrical and building internal wiring.

Responsibilities

  • Leads team of building construction trade technicians and 3rd party vendors.
  • Oversee annual residence hall turnover operations, including large-scale move-out and move-in processes, ensuring efficient dorm transitions and readiness for incoming residents.
  • Provides support for projects involving HVAC, plumbing, painting, masonry, carpentry, cabinetry, drywall installation and repair, and electrical repair.
  • Installs, repairs, and maintains suspended ceiling systems across campus facilities.
  • Installs, maintains, and services multi-craft building systems campus-wide to support ongoing operations.
  • Supervises on-staff trades including scheduling, oversight, and quality control work performed.
  • Documents and communicates actions and findings of work orders or projects; Estimates quantity of materials needed for each project.

Periodic/rotating after-hours on-call responsibilities, responding to facility issues and resident needs to maintain safety and operational continuity.

  • Operates equipment such as hand tools, shop equipment, areal man lift, fork lift, and backhoes
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School or GED
  • 4+ years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7-10 years building maintenance/multi-trade experience
  • Experience managing team of skilled trades/labor on construction projects

Proposed Salary

45,300 - 56,600

Salary offer will be dependent on candidates experience and qualifications, internal equity considerations, budget availability, and salary administration guidelines.

  • Demonstrated understanding of construction industry best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to read blueprints and engineered drawings
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand schematic diagrams
