Multi-Modality Technologist 2 - The Jewish Hospital

Job Summary: The Multi-Modality Technologist 2 performs duties related to two modalities, which may include performing procedures with related techniques, and/or producing images for the interpretation by, and at the request of, a licensed independent practitioner.

 

Essential Functions: • Performs duties for two modalities within the imaging and/or cardiovascular technology job families. (ex: XR, CT, MRI, ARRT, RDMS) • Meets continuing education or clinical requirements as required by regulatory standards • Operates equipment, accessories and is knowledgeable in workflows, procedures and processes of two modalities • When appropriate, selects imaging/sequences with consideration given to approved protocols and other factors influencing data acquisition parameters • Obtains patients clinical history and appropriate lab work ensuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner. Use of POC device for Lab work • Applies safety principles with a focus on the two modalities to minimize risk to patient, self and others that may affect the patient's safety, damage the equipment, or affect the image quality

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (required) Associates Degree (preferred) - For imaging modalities, preference is from an ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) accredited institute or of an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program or of an approved School of Ultrasound/Medical Sonography

 

Required Licensing & Certifications: Certification and Registration with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) or CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) or CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International) or ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) (required)

 

Required to be competent or registered in 2 of the following and obtain certification within 12 months: • Bone Densitometry (BD) • Breast Sonography (BS) • Radiologic Technology (R) • Computed Tomography (CT) • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) • Ultrasonography (S) • Nuclear Medicine (N) • Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV)* grandfathered • Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI) • Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) • Mammography (M) • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS), or ARRT - Vascular Sonography (VS) • Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)

 

BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred at hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care; ACLS required prior to direct patient care in Cardiology units) State Licensure (preferred, unless required by the state where the job is being performed)

 

Experience: 1 year of experience in healthcare environment (preferred)
