The following are the duties and responsibilities to adequately perform this job.
Sufficient knowledge of principles, methods and practices, procedures and terminology to perform the routine tasks of a Radiologic Technologist with minimal additional training.
Sufficient skill in using stationary and mobile radiologic equipment and software.
Must be knowledgeable of and use Universal Precautions.
Sufficient ability to advise others on technical questions involving Radiologic procedures.
Demonstrates responsibility for the care and safety of patients undergoing treatment and use of equipment to minimize hazards of electric shock, burns and extraneous radiation to patients.
Instructs and prepares patients for radiographic and/or fluoroscopic examinations.
Assists in maintaining basic records, reports, scheduling, filing and phone communication.
Programs portable or stationary techniques for various examinations, settings and equipment.
Prepares and administers contrast media as required by procedure.
Monitors patients for adverse reactions.
Takes call according to schedule after regular department hours, when department is closed.
Works holidays and weekends as required and various shifts to include third shift as needed.
Interacts professionally with patients and family.
Assures patients rights to privacy.
