Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Multi-modality Technologist, you will be responsible for performing x-ray and CT exams in accordance with standards and practice set forth by the American Registry or Radiologic Technology and Radiology Department policies and procedures. The Multi-modality Technologist demonstrates knowledge of human anatomy, disease processes, and functions, patient care positioning, principles of radiographic sciences, radiation protection, quality assurance, specialized techniques, and adheres to all Corporate Radiation Right policies.
Responsibilities:
• Consistently produce scans of optimal diagnostic quality on patients ranging from Neonatal to Geriatric age groups. • Follow established scanning and viewing protocols. • Operate CT scanner and related equipment efficiently and effectively. • Complete quality scans in a timely manner, effectively organizing and prioritizing workflow to meet STAT and urgent demands while continuing to meet OP customer standards. • Demonstrate proficiency in scanning trauma, acute, and challenging patients, possess skills to modify positioning and scanning factors when standard cannot be performed. • Demonstrate knowledge of disease processes and produce studies that optimally identify related anatomy. • Demonstrate competence in using the power injector, verbalize limits of use. • Scan patients of all ages, tailoring exam to the age, weight, special needs of patients. • Complete the required documentation on forms, logs, workstation, and Meditech. • Assist the Radiologist during invasive procedures, demonstrates knowledge of supplies required and ensures availability. • Ensure CT and department equipment is functioning properly.
Qualifications
• Associates Degree • One year experience as a Radiology Technologist in an acute care setting • One year experience performing CT procedures - required • Graduate from an accredited approved program in Radiologic Technology • Completion of courses in computed tomography (CT) and cross-sectional anatomy • Current Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification with Texas Medical Board (TMBC) • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. Davids Healthcare policy • Certified in Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) RCertified in CT by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) CT • St. Davids Medical Center part of St. Davids HealthCare is a comprehensive medical facility with three locations: St. Davids Medical Center, Heart Hospital of Austin, and St. Davids Georgetown Hospital.
