    Job Description
Step into the shop and shape metal into precision-built parts

Picture your day: you review a new set of blueprints, choose the ideal process—MIG, TIG, Stick, or Flux-Core—set up the machine, and prep surfaces so every joint is clean and true. From carbon steel to stainless and aluminum, you’ll fabricate and fit assemblies that meet exacting specs and pass rigorous checks.

    Your craft in action
    • Interpret welding blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings to plan weld sequence, materials, and process selection.
    • Prepare joints by cleaning, grinding, and beveling to ensure alignment and strong, consistent welds.
    • Execute multi-process welding (MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux-Core) on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, including complex configurations.
    • Hold weld quality to a high bar—free of cracks, porosity, undercut—and verify with inspections and non-destructive testing when required.
Maintenance and repair you can see and trust
    • Partner with maintenance teams to fabricate custom replacement parts and restore machinery, structures, and production equipment.
    • Rebuild and modify frames, brackets, and components to return equipment to service.
    • Perform post-weld inspections to confirm structural integrity and spec compliance.
    Quality, documentation, and traceability
    • Record materials used, work performed, and any non-conformances for accurate tracking.
    • Maintain welding logs and note issues encountered for future reference and continuous improvement.
    • Ensure all work aligns with industry codes, standards, and customer requirements.
    Tools, setup, and workspace
    • Operate welding machines, grinders, cutting torches, and related tools for fitting and fabrication.
    • Set up machines to match material specifications, dialing in parameters for optimal performance.
    • Keep equipment in safe working order with routine maintenance and minor repairs.
    • Maintain tidy, well-organized stations so tools and materials are always ready.
    Safety is non‑negotiable
    • Wear required PPE: gloves, face shields, welding helmets, and flame-resistant gear.
    • Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and keep the area free of fire hazards.
    • Participate in safety audits; call out hazards and help implement corrective actions.
    • Manage fumes, sparks, and metal debris to reduce risk and keep the workspace clean.

    Other duties as assigned.
