This versatile role requires expertise in handling various equipment types, ensuring safe and efficient operations. \n \nWhat You'll Do:\n \n1. Equipment Operation\n\n Operate a range of heavy machinery, including but not limited to excavators, bulldozers, motor graders, etc. depending on project requirements.\n \n\n Ensure the safe operation of the equipment and perform routine equipment maintenance checks.\n \n2. Material Handling\n\n Follow instructions provided by supervisors or production plans to meet desired operational goals.\n \n\n Handle materials with care to prevent spills, waste, or damage to equipment and surrounding infrastructure.\n \n3. Safety and Compliance\n\n Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).\n \n\n Maintain awareness of surroundings, equipment, and personnel to prevent accidents or hazards.\n \n\n Report any safety concerns, incidents, or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor promptly.\n \n4. Project Support\n\n Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and other team members to execute tasks according to project specifications.\n \n\n Ensure the efficient use of equipment to meet project timelines.\n \n5. Problem Solving\n\n Identify and address issues or challenges during equipment operation, troubleshooting as needed.\n \n6. Communication\n\n Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.\n \n7. Equipment Inspection and Maintenance\n\n Perform thorough pre and post operation checks of the dragline to identify safety or mechanical defects.\n \n\n Report any maintenance needs or equipment issues to the maintenance department.\n \n8. Documentation\n\n Maintain accurate records of materials loaded and unloaded.\n \n\n Complete log sheets, work orders, and other documentation as required.\n \n9. May direct and train others to operate and maintain equipment as required.\n \n10. Other duties as assigned.\n \nSkills You'll Need: \n \nEducation: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Trade school diploma or certificate in equipment operation is highly desired.\n \nExperience: Previous experience in operating large dozers, cranes, excavators and motor graders is required. \n \nCertifications/Licenses: A valid driver's license is required\n \nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\n\n

- Must be willing to work overtime and travel to different operations depending on company demands. \n \n\n Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises. \n \n\n Physical ability to operate heavy machinery for extended periods.\n \n\n \nCritical Competencies\n \nEquipment Operation: Proficiency in operating large equipment, including understanding the controls, gauges, and indicators. Ability to manipulate equipment accurately and smoothly for various tasks. Skill in handling attachments and understanding their applications.\n \nSafety Awareness: Thorough understanding of Vulcan's safety protocols and MSHA/OSHA regulations related to heavy equipment operation. Ability to identify potential hazards and take preventive actions to ensure a safe working environment. Diligent use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety guidelines at all times.\n \nTechnical Expertise: Solid mechanical understanding of draglines, including basic maintenance checks and troubleshooting minor issues. Ability to identify signs of equipment malfunction and report them to the maintenance team. \n \nProblem Solving: Ability to assess operational challenges and adapt loading techniques accordingly.
