Position Summary:
Operating room surgical technician is an integral member of the multidisciplinary surgical team. The surgical technician acts as a scrub person, prepares and handles instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during a surgical procedure. He/She has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/She works collaboratively with other team members to assure quality patient care during the operative procedure. The surgical technician functions under the supervision of a registered nurse. Participates in the on-call schedule for after-hours urgent/ emergent surgical cases, unless otherwise indicated.
Educational Requirements/ Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Certificate from surgical technician school.
- Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Three to six months experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Advanced experience of certification required for Certified Surgical Technician grade and step as outlined in the UFCW CBA.
Pay Range:
- Not Certified: $28.58 - $37.78 per hour
- Certified: $29.51 - $38.74 per hour
