Multi‑Spindle CNC Lathe Programmer‑Operator

Role snapshot

  • Set up and operate CNC turning centers to produce high‑precision components.
  • Collaborate with experienced machinists to continuously improve processes and outcomes.
  • Contribute immediately to a rapidly expanding production team.

Core responsibilities

  • Plan machining steps from work orders, blueprints, materials, and specifications; interpret GD&T for surfaces and tolerances.
  • Program multi‑spindle lathes: establish zero/reference points; configure tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculate using math/geometry/trigonometry; prove out part programs.
  • Perform full setups by installing and adjusting tools and workholding for turning operations.
  • Load and secure raw stock into the feed mechanism safely.
  • Validate setups by measuring machine positions, first‑article, and sample parts; follow international standards.
  • Maintain specification compliance during drilling, grooving, turning, facing, knurling, and thread‑chasing; measure, detect malfunctions, troubleshoot, adjust/reprogram, and replace or sharpen tooling per quality procedures.
  • Follow all safety procedures and shop regulations.
  • Execute preventive maintenance per OEM instructions; troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Complete production and quality logs accurately and on time.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years on CNC turning centers; Swiss‑type experience preferred
  • Proficiency in G‑code programming
  • Conceptual problem solving and process‑improvement mindset
  • Effective verbal communication skills
  • Robust functional/technical aptitude
  • Knowledge of machine controls and instrumentation
  • Tooling expertise and strong coordination/manual dexterity
