General Description:Set-up, operate, and trouble shoot a variety of Multi Spindle Cam Screw machines including Gildemeister and a plus if you have experience with Davenport or Euroturns.Responsibilities: (20% Set-Up; 70% Operating, 10% Other Duties)Setup and Troubleshoot new parts & Change over machine: cams, collets, gears, pushers, tool spindles, etcChecks and adjust machine components as needed and recognizes when advanced machine repairs are neededWorks with engineering and quality to design toolsAdvanced understanding Layouts: Calculate FPR, SFM, threading cams, pickoff and counter bore cams, determine correct cycle timesOperate machine Load material on machines as needed: 12-foot bar stock in most cases Read, understand information in workmanship standardsFill out appropriate sections of work orderHandle, store, use micrometers, calipers, gages appropriatelyPerform and document Smith & Richardson inspection procedures when appropriate (SPC charts, work orders, move tickets)Identify nonconforming product or materialWash tools and return to storage areaOil, lube, clean and perform minor repairs as neededCommunicate with tool room or maintenance as required by managerAssist with training of Operator persons as neededKnow and follow safety standardsParticipate in corrective actions as requiredRemove scrap Other duties as requiredPhysical and Visual Activities:Standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, visual acuity-far/near depth perception, field of vision and accommodationPhysical Demands:Lift up to 75 poundsEnvironmental/Atmospheric Conditions:Indoor conditions, noise, hazards, odors, toxic conditions, dust, and periods of travel to support company's international facilities may be requiredJob Qualification Requirements:KnowledgeHigh school graduate or equivalent; reading, basic math, blueprint readingMachine tool technical degree a plusTool design, machine repair helpfulExperience 3+ Years of setup experience on Multi-spindle Cam Screw Machines. Preferably on Gildemeister GM20 or equivalent. Machines, Tools, EquipmentMulti Spindle machines, measuring instruments, surface and bench grinders. Lathe, mill, and drill press experience helpful Information/DirectionsWritten and verbal work instructions, workmanship standards book (engineer drawings), quality control documentation (work orders, move tickets)
