Through thoughtfully planned activities and trained staff, we create what we callHeadfirst Moments: when a camper tries something new, pushes through fear, and realizes, “I can do it.”Headfirst Summer Camp Multi-Sport Counselors will lead campers in pre-written curriculum as they play various court-based and field-based sports, as well as trying new games and competing in friendly inter-camp tournaments. We provide the training, curriculum & daily camp schedules along with all equipment for a successful camp day but need you to bring camp to life with your enthusiasm, dedication and un-matched energy.Camper ages: 5-12 years oldActivities include: field & court sports including basketball, soccer, floor hockey, flag football; PE-style games consisting of hungry hippos and capture the flag; mental agility and mindset; tournament competitions; team spirit activitiesRole InformationSchedule:In-season (late June through mid August): 7:45 am – 3:30 pm Monday – FridayPre-season (early June): select weekends for training and site preparationCompensation: $15.65 / hourWhat You'll DoBring Camp to LifeCoach a team of 8 to 10 campers, often linking up with a co-counselor and their teamImplement Headfirst's safety protocols on supervision, bathrooms, emergency medications, and camper behavior managementImplement a planned schedule + Lead team meetings, sports, physical individual and team challenge activities, bathroom & sunscreen breaks, transitions, lunch & snackExecute morning and afternoon carpool as a key player, welcoming each family to camp by name with fantastic dance moves and coordinated carpool proceduresNurture Physical, Social & Emotional SafetyWork directly with campers to support them in their emotional, physical, and social development through hands-on, team-based experiences and developmentally appropriate activitiesRepresent Headfirst for Families & Facility PartnersRepresent the Headfirst brand daily to families at carpool and to school facility partners throughout the summer by being enthusiastic, hands‑on, helpful, and in uniformActively participate in our efforts to take care of our camp facility and communityBe an Active Member of the Camp TeamArrive on time, communicate schedule changes promptly, be a loyal and consistent team member who shows up for the campers and your teamBe flexible with your assignment and open to supporting other programs on siteHandle the CurveballsPractice resiliency and arrive with a “How Can I Help?” mentality that puts camper experience and team success at the forefront through problem solving and trying new thingsAbout YouMust be at least 18 years old.If you are between 16-17 years old, please apply for our Junior Counselor positionMust be able to:Work around small children including, sitting, standing, running, and climbing stairs for the full day.Work in hot and outdoor environments while actively supervising campers and participating in dynamic activities for extended periods of time.Lift and carry up to 30 pounds occasionally.Committed to adhering to the Cell-Phone Free policy, powering down and putting away cell phones in a locked pouch for the duration of your shiftHeadfirst Summer Camps is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
