Multi-Trade Facilities Maintenance Technician

Location: Lakeland, FL 33813

A day in the life

Start your morning with a walk-through of the property, checking building systems and scanning for anything that needs attention. As work orders come in, you’ll pivot from troubleshooting an electrical issue to fixing a leak, and then swap gears to assist with setting a new fixture in place. By afternoon, you’ll coordinate with teammates to wrap up a larger repair, tidy your workspace, restock parts, and document what’s complete—leaving the facility safer and sharper than when you started.

What you’ll handle

  • Perform a wide range of building maintenance and repair tasks across facilities, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Conduct regular walk-throughs to spot problems early and verify safety and code compliance.
  • Respond quickly to requests from staff and leadership, prioritizing urgent items.
  • Support the installation of new equipment and fixtures when needed.
  • Track and organize parts, tools, and supplies to keep the shop ready for the next task.
  • Partner with coworkers to deliver efficient solutions on multi-person projects.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work areas while following all safety practices.
  • Provide courteous, solution-focused service when interacting with employees and visitors.

What you’ll bring

  • Hands-on experience in general maintenance or a comparable handyman/multi-trade role.
  • Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
  • Knack for diagnosing issues and resolving them efficiently.
  • Clear communication skills and a helpful, professional attitude.
  • Self-directed, organized, and able to manage time without close supervision.
  • Physically able to handle manual labor and lift/move materials as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional maintenance-related certifications are a plus.

Core proficiencies

  • Plumbing
  • Electrical repair
  • Tape measure accuracy and layout
  • Rough and finish carpentry

If you take pride in quality workmanship and enjoy seeing tangible results from your effort, we’d love to connect.
