- Can you lead a 2nd Pressman and Feeder, set expectations, and mentor while running a complex press?
- Do you confidently set up, adjust, and operate a multi-unit, multi-color sheetfed offset press?
- Are you comfortable controlling color to spec using proofs, LSDs, handheld and scanning densitometers?
- Can you keep image registration precise from first sheet to final?

If you said “yes,” here’s the work you’ll own
- Deliver premium paperboard packaging that meets all customer requirements for color, registration, and print quality.
- Review job orders, proofs, save sheets, LSDs, and specs before every makeready.
- Lead, guide, and motivate the press crew; provide performance feedback.
- Set up and run the press; maintain ink/water balance and make on-the-fly adjustments.
- Inspect results, identify nonconforming product, and communicate/segregate as required.
- Control material usage and waste; return unused materials and paperwork to proper storage.
- Operate scanning densitometers when applicable; use densitometry for color control.
- Capture complete production records and retain qualifying Save Sheets for each run.
- Ensure thorough line clearance between every job.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience and skills you bring
- High school diploma or GED; proficient English communication.
- Solid math with fractions/decimals; accurate color vision.
- Basic computer proficiency preferred.
- 2+ years as a Lead Pressman on multi-color offset (5+ preferred) delivering high-end 4-color process work.
- Leadership experience developing a press crew.
- Mastery of offset fundamentals: ink/water balance, color management, registration control.
- Mitsubishi press background preferred; exposure to paperboard packaging, UV inks, in-line coating, and handheld/scanning densitometers preferred.
- Spectrophotometer experience a plus.
- Mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting.
- Organized, decisive, adaptable to changing production demands.
