Position Purpose: The Sales Trainer assists the leasing team?s execution of the sales life cycle from lead-generation to closing, meets individual sales goals, participates in relevant marketing events, develops a deep understanding of all accounts associated with assigned teams, and ensures proper executions of team?s essential functions, policies, and procedures. This role will also develop and facilitate sales-related courses, seminars, and workshops for new and experienced multifamily employees to meet the goals and objectives set for the property and the company.

  • This position is posted across multiple locations and offers flexibility for candidates based in key markets within the greater Orlando and Tampa regions, particularly those in close proximity to Northland?s Florida portfolio.

Essential Functions: The following list of essential job functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented or modified, as necessary.

  • Provide on-boarding support to new leasing consultants.
  • Provide live and virtual training to onsite team members to ensure the proper execution of sales cycles and utilization of leasing functions in the multifamily software system (CRM).
  • Mentors and develops the assigned sales team members in their region.
  • Expands and improves team product knowledge and demonstration skills.
  • Ensures all team members complete required training and annual certifications within the timeframe outlined in the training guidelines.
  • Assists communities in the sales process by working onsite with leasing as needed.
  • Conduct a weekly review of sales performance results and provides coaching and counseling to leasing team members based on property benchmarks. Draft and implement performance improvement plans, as needed.
  • Provides assessments of assigned communities after site visits.
  • Prepares a monthly sales training schedule and conducts engaging sales classes to promote an inclusive environment for creative idea exchanges.
  • Create sales procedures and training manuals for the key sales disciplines: telephone, on-site tour and follow up both e-lead and database management.
  • Audits execution of sales performance with monthly call reviews and shops of communities.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required and assigned by the Director | Sales Training.

Qualifications and Requirements: The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

  • At least 3 years of industry sales training experience is required with a bachelor?s degree preferred, but not required.
  • Experience in writing, developing, and conducting presentations both in group and 1-to-1 settings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to be persuasive and organized in thought and composition when speaking with others or when formulating emails, memos, and letters.
  • Advanced competency with computer, peripherals and variety of software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with property management software strongly preferred (Yardi Voyager, Aspire, Rent Café, LRO, or similar systems).
  • Ability to prioritize and plan work activities, uses time efficiently and develops realistic action plans.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness when monitoring your own work and others.
  • Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and is able to deal with change, delays, or unexpected events.
  • The employee exhibits a professional manner and maintains constructive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including employees, vendors, and customers.
  • Ability to travel 50-75% of the time.
