Our Production Operations organization is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor for our Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans, LA.

In this dynamic role you will:

• Receive assignments in task-oriented terms
• Provide direction primarily to hourly/non-exempt subordinates using established policies and precedents
• Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
• Demonstrate soundness of judgment and produce quality hardware in a manufacturing environment
• Administer and execute policies and procedures that typically affect individual subordinate employees
• Provide direction of daily operations to a manufacturing team and actively assist or provide direction to subordinates as required
• Develop work assignments, assess performance
• Assist with performing direct tasks as workload requires
• Support corrective action investigations, root cause analysis, advise on and implement innovations and process improvements, as well as maintain 6S/lean processes for area of responsibility.

Manages more than one functional area of manufacturing, such as machining, assembly, tool and die, packaging. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.

Basic Qualifications

• Appropriate degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience combined with education
• Proven ability to read and understand engineering drawings
• Proven ability to read manufacturing work instructions to perform manufacturing tasks in the fabrication of spaceflight hardware
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Prior formal or informal leadership experience

Desired Skills

Extensive experience as a technician, lead technician or a test technician in a manufacturing environment

• Familiarity with customer requirements from NASA or the Department of Defense
• Strong mentoring and leadership skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $72500.00 - $134600.00

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
