Greenfield High School is searching for a strong MLL educator to join its multilingual teaching staff. We are seeking a full-time, experienced Multilingual Learner (ML) / English Language Learner (ELL) teacher to join our dynamic team as a part of the school''s Differentiated Learning Supports Department. Supported by meaningful relationships with educators and classmates and with a curriculum infused with innovative learning practices, our diverse student population is provided countless ways to apply skills and understandings in real-world contexts. With investments in academic and career-oriented courses--the 1,150 Hustlin' Hawks of Greenfield High School are ready to be leaders in college, career and community settings. Current licensure is required.
The ideal candidate will:
- Possess experience working with students who have ML needs, families and working collaboratively with colleagues
- Continuously reflect on his or her current practice, looking for next steps and opportunities to enhance student learning
- Create meaningful relationships and develop genuine connections recognizing each person as a unique individual and valuing differences
- Challenge and stretch student thinking, encouraging an excitement for learning by instilling a sense of ownership and agency in students
- Possess a positive, asset-based mindset, identifying and accentuating students' skills and experiences
- Utilize a variety of assessment types to measure growth and learning. Provide meaningful feedback to assess students'' applied knowledge and to inform next steps
- Desire to work with colleagues in a collaborative action team (professional learning community) setting to ensure the needs of all students are met
- Develop and facilitate student-centered lessons utilizing a broad range of effective, personalized techniques and strategies
- Provide diverse students the guided opportunities to grow 21st Century skills such as self-directed learning, critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, well-being, global competence and communication
- Collaborate with multilingual educational colleagues to support student learning needs in a manner that stretches students' abilities in content and language skills
- Be highly skilled in effective collaborative relationships; provide support and share tools with educators to enrich each student''s learning trajectory
- Flexibly meet student needs in a variety of structural configurations, from co-teaching to targeted English language skills
- Be committed to the school community and to the families we serve
- Possess a passionate commitment to working with teenagers with the belief that all students can achieve at high levels
- Use research-based strategies and culturally responsive practices to support academic language development across content areas
- Provide push-in or co-taught support in general education classes, including collaborative planning with teachers
- Support classroom teachers in implementing inclusive instructional practices in alignment with Individualized Language Plan needs
- Collaborate with the School Assessment Coordinator to manage accommodations and administer state testing for ML students
