At the present time, the Norristown Area School District is seeking up to 8 Instructional Assistants to support a four-week summer camp program running Monday through Thursday during July 2026.

Position Details:

Effective July 2026, temporary Instructional Assistant positions are available within the Norristown Area School District for the duration of the summer camp program. These positions support school-age students in a structured summer learning environment.

Schedule:

• Monday through Thursday
• 8:00 AM 1:00 PM (5 hours per day)
• Four-week program in July 2026 (exact dates to be confirmed)

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education preferred
• Experience working with children in an educational or structured setting preferred
• Current clearances (PA Criminal History, Child Abuse, and FBI Fingerprints) required
• Ability to commit to the full duration of the program

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Support teachers in delivering instruction and implementing planned activities
• Provide small group and/or individual student support as directed
• Assist with classroom management and organization
• Help create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
• Support student needs, including those requiring additional academic or behavioral support

Hourly Rate: (Based on Years of Experience)

• 0 - 9 yrs experience = $18.72
• 10 - 13 yrs experience = $20.57
• 14 - 17 yrs experience = $22.41
• 18 - 25 yrs experience = $24.26
• *Bachelor's degree is equivalent to 9 yrs experience on the scale = $18.72
• *Master's degree is equivalent to 15 yrs experience on the scale = $22.41
