Multimedia Communications Coordinator II
Rothe is seeking a Multimedia Communications Coordinator II to create and manage content for the Innovation Now radio program for the NASA Research and Technology Mission Directorate. The work will be in support of the NASA Enterprise Multimedia and Integrated Technical Services (eMITS) contract. eMITS is the Agency’s enterprise-level contract creating and delivering multimedia and technical communications through the use of the internet, digital platforms, and IT management for NASA’s Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) and Office of Communications (OCOMM). From photographing rocket launches and recoveries, to producing NASA TV segments, to information technology management, to using social media to share NASA’s message, eMITS integrates services for NASA IT and provides NASA’s communication to the outside world. Job Description:

Creates and produces a full range of audio and multimedia products for distribution via the web, social media radio, and other platforms in support of communications strategy and goals for the Innovation Now radio program.

Functional Responsibilities:

  • May analyze metrics and performance data.
  • Provides quality control for design and content so that all products conform to NASA’s style guide and reflects the NASA brand as well as best practices for the platform and audience.
  • Distills complex data and information from technical documents into visual representations and reports.
  • Meets with the client to determine and develop the vision for the asset, provides a product for review and executes the final product.
  • Offers creative and professional input by recommending solutions for design problems.
  • Manages tight deadlines.
Remote, hybrid, and onsite positions the employee bears travel costs to nearest NASA Center for badging and issue of NASA IT equipment.

Education and Experience:

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, multimedia production, or a related field.
Minimum Experience: Minimum of five years of professional experience in audio, digital, or social media communications, including hands on content creation, editorial planning, and campaign execution for large organizations, preferably in a science, government, or mission driven environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years’ audio production, graphic design, social media content generation and analysis
  • Adobe Creative Suite (have thorough knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop), Microsoft 365, and SharePoint
  • Experienced in digital delivery
  • Must be client-oriented, collaborating and communicating concepts and solutions with non-designers
  • A solid foundation in typography, layout and design
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines and multi-task
  • A portfolio of examples that demonstrate creativity of producing content for external audiences and mastery of multiple writing styles
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, OneNote, One Drive), SharePoint, and Box.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in film, television, and radio; audio production; multimedia production, or communications is preferred
  • NASA experience is a plus
  • Work experience in high-profile, fast-paced environments
