Position Title: Multimedia Communications Specialist

Reports to: Director of Communications

Terms of Employment: Full-time; some evenings and weekends required for events; 195 days

Siloam Springs School District is seeking a Multimedia Communications Specialist to join our Communications Department. This position plays a vital role in telling the story of our schools through photography, videography, writing, social media, and community engagement. The successful candidate will help capture the moments that define Panther Nation, create compelling content, and strengthen connections between our schools and the community.

The ideal candidate is a creative, self-motivated storyteller who is eager to grow professionally in a school environment. They should possess strong communication skills, an eye for impactful content, and a passion for public education. In addition to content creation, this individual will help expand the district''s public relations efforts, build relationships with community partners, and identify opportunities to enhance awareness and support for Siloam Springs School District.

Key Responsibilities:

Photography & Videography

  • Serve as district photographer at school events, athletic events, classroom settings, and planned promotional shoots
  • Capture and produce video content for district promotions, social media, broadcast use, and the district website
  • Build and maintain a searchable digital media archive of photographs and B-roll footage for ongoing district use
  • Organize, tag, and catalog all media assets using district-provided digital asset management tools

Copywriting & Content Creation

  • Write copy for print and digital advertising campaigns, promotional materials, newsletters, and the district website
  • Draft broadcast scripts for video productions, public service announcements, and district-produced media
  • Create social media content that engages the community and promotes district programs, achievements, and events
  • Maintain a consistent, professional district voice across all communications channels

Event Support

  • Provide on-site communications support for district events including coverage and post-event content creation
  • Collaborate with building-level staff to identify and capture compelling student and staff stories

Community & Business Partnerships

  • Assist in identifying and cultivating relationships with local businesses, civic organizations, and community partners
  • Help develop and maintain partnership programs that raise district visibility and reinforce Siloam Springs schools as the community''s first choice in education

Required

  • Bachelor''s degree in communications, journalism, digital media, marketing, or a closely related field OR equivalent demonstrated experience
  • Demonstrated ability in photography and/or videography (portfolio or work samples required with application)
  • Experience writing copy for multiple platforms and audiences
  • Proficiency or working familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or equivalent editing software
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Valid Arkansas driver''s license

Preferred

  • Experience in a K-12 school or public-sector communications environment
  • Broadcast or video production experience
  • Familiarity with social media content management tools and analytics
  • Experience managing or contributing to a digital asset library
  • Bilingual skills - English/Spanish a plus

This position requires occasional evening and weekend availability for school events, athletic competitions, and community functions. The role involves indoor and outdoor work in a variety of conditions. The employee must be able to transport, set up, and operate district-provided camera and production equipment. Regular travel between district buildings and to community locations is expected.
