Position Summary:

Note: A portfolio with work samples demonstrating e-learning development, multimedia production, and visual design capabilities is required to be considered for this position.

The Multimedia Manager, Learning Design and Innovation (LDI) is a hands-on multimedia developer and e-learning producer responsible for creating engaging, visually compelling, and accessible educational experiences across ASAM's live, blended, and online education portfolio. Reporting within the LDI team, this role leads the multimedia production and digital development of educational products, including interactive e-learning modules, video and audio content, graphics, animations, and other digital learning assets. The Multimedia Manager works closely with instructional designers, project managers, faculty subject matter experts (SMEs), and other stakeholders to transform complex clinical and educational content into polished, learner-centered experiences.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical production skills and demonstrated expertise with Articulate 360, particularly Rise, along with multimedia production tools for video, audio, graphic, and interactive content development. This position requires someone who is equally comfortable building an online course, developing visual assets, coordinating a faculty recording, editing multimedia, and troubleshooting production challenges. Successful candidates will have a strong visual design sensibility, attention to detail, knowledge of accessibility and digital learning best practices, and the ability to manage multiple production workflows simultaneously.

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Design, develop, and produce multimedia-rich educational content across live, blended, and online learning environments.
• Lead the development and production of online learning experiences using Articulate 360, particularly Articulate Rise.
• Create and edit multimedia learning assets, including video, audio, graphics, animations, interactive activities, and other digital content.
• Collaborate with instructional designers, faculty SMEs, and project teams to translate complex addiction medicine content into engaging and visually effective learning experiences.
• Recommend multimedia approaches, technology solutions, visual treatments, and interaction strategies that enhance learner engagement and support learning objectives.
• Develop course assets through storyboarding, scripting, content layout, visual design, interaction design, and multimedia production.
• Coordinate and support faculty video and audio recording sessions, including recording preparation, production, editing, and post-production.
• Apply UX/UI and visual design principles to improve the usability, consistency, and learner experience of digital educational products.
• Ensure multimedia and digital learning products adhere to ASAM brand and style guidelines.
• Apply accessibility best practices throughout development and conduct accessibility reviews to support compliance with WCAG standards.
• Conduct quality assurance reviews and course testing across devices and learning environments; troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
• Maintain, revise, and enhance existing courses and multimedia assets as educational content and technology needs evolve.
• Manage multimedia and course production timelines and deliverables across multiple grant-funded and organizational education initiatives.
• Identify and recommend emerging technologies, tools, and multimedia practices that could enhance ASAM educational products and production workflows.
• Contribute to team standards, templates, processes, and best practices for multimedia production, accessibility, and digital learning development.
• Travel occasionally (approximately 1-3 trips per year) to support educational programs, recordings, or on-site course operations as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Digital Media/Multimedia Design, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Learning Experience Design, or a related field.
• A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in multimedia production, e-learning development, digital learning production, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience developing online learning experiences using Articulate 360, particularly Articulate Rise.
• Demonstrated experience producing and editing multimedia content, including video, audio, graphics, and interactive digital learning assets.
• Experience using multimedia and digital content creation tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Descript, Canva, or comparable applications.
• Experience developing accessible digital content and applying WCAG accessibility standards.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Desired Qualifications

• Master's degree in Digital Media/Multimedia Design, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Learning Experience Design, Adult Education, or a related field.
• Experience with advanced interactive e-learning development tools.
• Experience with specialized multimedia production, such as motion graphics, animation, podcast production, or advanced video production.
• Experience applying UX/UI and interaction design principles to digital learning experiences.
• Experience supporting continuing education, healthcare education, association education, or other professional learning programs.
• Familiarity with adult learning principles and online course development best practices.

Skills and Abilities:

• Strong visual communication and design judgment, with the ability to create high-quality, engaging, and professional educational materials.
• Ability to translate complex content and concepts into clear, visually effective, learner-friendly experiences.
• Strong technical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot production challenges and quickly learn new multimedia and educational technologies.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality, consistency, and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple production workflows, priorities, and deadlines.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of deliverables, and move projects from concept through final production.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with faculty subject matter experts, project teams, and colleagues across departments.
• Ability to receive, interpret, and incorporate feedback while maintaining design and production quality.
• Proactive, resourceful, creative, and solutions-oriented approach to work.
• Intellectual curiosity and interest in evolving multimedia, digital learning, and educational technology practices.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary: $68,000 - $78,000 Commensurate with experience.
