Summary:

The Penn Medicine News Team seeks a creative, detail-oriented Multimedia Production Intern to support the development of compelling digital content that showcases groundbreaking research, clinical innovation, patient care, and the people behind one of the nation\'s leading academic health systems.

Reporting to the Associate News Director and working closely with communications, marketing, and digital content teams, the intern will help produce multimedia stories for Penn Medicine\'s news platforms, social media channels, and external media audiences. This position offers hands-on experience in visual storytelling, video production, photography, editing, and content creation within a fast-paced healthcare and higher education environment.

The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller with an interest in journalism, multimedia production, healthcare, science, or higher education communications.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the planning, production, and editing of video content featuring Penn Medicine physicians, researchers, staff, patients, and community partners.
• Capture and edit photos and video for news stories, social media, websites, and internal communications.
• Support the creation of short-form videos, reels, and social-first content.
• Assist in conducting and recording interviews with faculty, clinicians, researchers, and other stakeholders.
• Help develop visual assets to accompany news releases, feature stories, and media outreach efforts.
• Organize and maintain multimedia files, project assets, and content archives.
• Support live and recorded event coverage, including research announcements, community events, and media opportunities.
• Perform basic video editing, captioning, and formatting for web and social media distribution.
• Contribute ideas for innovative multimedia storytelling projects that highlight Penn Medicine\'s impact.
• Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures
• Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization

Education or Equivalent Experience:

• Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Production, Film, Digital Media, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field is required.
