PURPOSE
The Harte Research Institute (HRI) is seeking a Multimedia Production Specialist to support the institute's visual communications and multimedia projects. This role provides hands-on assistance in graphic design, video, and photography, while also coordinating with print vendors to ensure high-quality, on-brand deliverables to produce accurate, visually engaging content for HRI's social media, digital and print publications, marketing materials, and institutional initiatives including but not limited to development and community outreach. This position will report to the Creative Manager.
DESCRIPTION
Functional Area 1: Multimedia Production
Percent Effort: 60%
Supports development and production of visualization projects.
Serve as primary institute photographer in office and field settings.
Manage and grow institute photo library, inform HRI on available assets and send to end users as needed.
Act as secondary videographer for video projects, assisting with set-up, photography and filming, and post-production tasks including logging footage, editing, creating rough cuts, and preparing content for social media, YouTube or other publishing platforms.
Research and develop engaging multimedia and graphic design projects and visual asset creation to support HRI marketing, branding and outreach.
Collaborate with the Creative Manager and Marketing & Communications team to ensure consistency and quality across all projects.
Sets up and operates cameras, lighting units, microphones, and other equipment for field production.
Operate University vehicles to pick up supplies, transport equipment, and travel to field and project sites.
Maintains University image identity standards.
Functional Area 2: Administrative
Percent Effort: 30%
Prioritize, organize, and schedule work assignments and projects.
Coordinate printed projects obtaining quotes, working with internal and external printing vendors, and tracking project status through completion.
Maintain organized records of creative assets and project progress.
Evaluate products and services for quality standards.
Functional Area 3: Other
Percent Effort: 10%
Design logos and graphics for purchased marketing items to ensure items are properly branded, have a high-quality look and feel, and meet HRI and University identity standards.
Assist with gift basket creation and archive room maintenance.
Assist with events as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in applicable field
Additional experience may be used as a substitute for the minimum education requirement:
High School diploma or GED and four (4) years of related experience OR
Associates degree in applicable field and two (2) years of related experience
Must have a valid driver's license.
Excellence in digital photography of wildlife, panoramic scenes, portraits and branding initiatives or similar.
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, InDesign or similar) and Canva.
Experience in visual identity, marketing and advertising, and print graphic design.
Experience with video editing, lighting design, microphone set-up and operation and other equipment necessary for video production.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and follow-up skills, particularly when coordinating with vendors.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledgeable about the Cannon Camera platform
Experience with web design, information design, motion graphics design and environmental graphics design.
Previous experience supporting creative or marketing projects.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Ability to conceptually understand instructional needs and translate them into multimedia designs.
Knowledge of planning and executing marketing plans with regards to multimedia preferred.
Excellent written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Other Requirements: Ability to lift moderately heavy objects (Up to 60 pounds).
SALARY: Up to $4,666.67 (Up to $56,000 Annual, Approximately)
