    Med Surg/Tele RN

    Location: Northport, AL
    Contract Length: 13 Weeks
    Shift: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
    Schedule: 36 or 48 Hours/Week
    Weekend: Every Other Weekend
    Holidays: As Required
    Charting: Meditech
    Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:6

    Note:There are multiple openings across AL & Compact Licenses are also accepted for this role. 

    Pay Package

    36-Hour Package

    • Total Gross: From $2,150.00/week

    48-Hour Package

    • Total Gross: From $2,900.00/week

    Position Overview

    We are seeking an experienced Med Surg/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week assignment on a multi-specialty Med Surg/Telemetry unit.

    The RN will provide patient-centered care to a diverse medical and surgical patient population while collaborating closely with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

    Unit & Patient Population

    The unit provides care for a wide range of medical and surgical patients, including:

    • Medical patients requiring telemetry monitoring
    • Dialysis patients
    • Patients with acute medical conditions
    • Orthopedic patients, including fractures and shoulder/back procedures
    • General surgery patients, including:
      • Appendectomy
      • Hernia repair
      • Cholecystectomy
      • Colon resection

    The unit focuses on:

    • Pain management
    • Patient mobility
    • Prevention of complications
    • Patient recovery
    • Patient-centered care
    • Teamwork and collaboration

    Requirements

    • ASN degree required.
    • Minimum 2 years of RN experience preferred.
    • Candidates with 18 months of experience may be considered if they:
      • Have worked under the highest level of professional license.
      • Have at least 1 year of experience in the specialty.
    • Alabama or Compact RN License required.
    • Temporary licenses are not accepted.
    • AHA or ARC BLS required.
    • Previous Med Surg/Telemetry experience required.
    • Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals.
    • Must successfully pass a Dysrhythmia Basic exam during onboarding.

    Orientation

    • Orientation is conducted biweekly.
    • 16 hours of orientation are non-billable.

    Additional Information

    • Every other weekend and holidays are required as applicable.
    • The assignment may include up to 4 shift cancellations during the contract without penalty; cancellations are expected to be rare.
    • No interview is required for the assignment; offers may be extended based on the candidate profile. An interview can be arranged upon request.
    • Candidates have 2 attempts to pass the Dysrhythmia Basic exam.
    • Failure to pass within two attempts may result in contract cancellation.
    • Strong teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills are important for this position.
