Multiple Special Education Teacher Openings - Northwest Columbia, SC
Location: NW Columbia, South Carolina Area Position Type: Full-time, school-based contract Setting: In-person
A school district in the Northwest Columbia area is seeking multiple Special Education Teachers to join its team. This is a great opportunity for educators looking to work in a supportive school community while serving students across elementary, middle, and high school grade levels.
Current assignments include:
Middle school self-contained positions
High school resource position
Elementary school self-contained position
Additional special education openings based on district needs
Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs
Provide direct instruction in self-contained or resource classroom settings
Modify lessons, assignments, and instructional materials based on student needs
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and multidisciplinary team meetings
Collaborate with general education teachers, related-service providers, administrators, and families
Support students' academic, behavioral, social, and functional development
Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal special education regulations
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field
Active South Carolina teaching license with an appropriate Special Education certification preferred
Active out-of-state teaching licenses are accepted for consideration
Candidates with an out-of-state license must be eligible to obtain the appropriate South Carolina teaching certification
Experience developing and implementing IEPs
Experience working in self-contained or resource classroom settings preferred
Strong classroom-management, organization, and communication skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with school staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams
