Requirements / Qualifications
Multiple Subjects Credential & Site Supervisor Permit or higher with CLAD,ELA1, ELAM or equivalent Authorization or PK-3 Credential with CLAD,ELA1, ELAM or equivalent Authorization Adding a PK-3 Credential for Existing Credential Holders Individuals who already hold a valid Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with an English Learner Authorization do not have to complete a teacher preparation program to earn a PK-3 credential. Individuals will be issued a PK-3 Early Childhood Education Credential with the term of preliminary or clear based upon and in alignment with their existing valid Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. Individuals may apply directly under this option by completing the following: Verify subject matter competence by one of the following methods: Possession of a bachelor's or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education with a degree major in one of the following fields: Child Development Child and Adolescent Development Human Development Early Childhood Education Child and Family Studies Early Childhood Studies Family Science Human Development and Family Science Child, Adolescent, and Family Studies Completion of 24 semester units or 36 quarter units of non-remedial, degree-applicable coursework at a regionally accredited institution of higher education in early childhood education and/or child development.
