    Southeast Georgia Health System is seeking a dedicated Multi Specialty Radiation Therapist to provide exceptional patient care within our Cancer Care Center's Cyberknife Department. In this role, you will deliver accurate radiation therapy treatments, perform imaging procedures, maintain patient safety standards, and support a collaborative oncology care environment.

    Position Summary

    The Multi Specialty Radiation Therapist provides direct care to Radiation Oncology patients by setting up and delivering accurate radiation treatments with minimal supervision according to nationally accepted standards of practice. This role is responsible for imaging procedures, patient safety, treatment accuracy, documentation, and supporting the overall success of the Radiation Oncology team.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Prepare treatment rooms and equipment according to patient prescriptions, including treatment devices, beam modifiers, and mechanical alignments.
    • Perform and document daily equipment quality assurance and safety checks.
    • Deliver radiation treatments accurately and efficiently according to treatment plans.
    • Conduct imaging procedures, including OBI and CBCT, while maintaining quality standards.
    • Assist with simulation and therapy techniques as needed.
    • Perform routine dosimetry calculations.
    • Fabricate treatment devices and cerrobend blocks to support patient treatment plans.
    • Coordinate patient simulation and treatment schedules.
    • Accurately enter charges and documentation within established timeframes.
    • Assist with patient chart reviews and treatment verification.
    • Maintain complete and accurate patient records in manual and electronic systems.
    • Stay current on emerging radiation therapy procedures, technologies, and best practices.
    • Deliver outstanding customer service and advocate for patients when needed.
    • Support maintenance programs, supply management, and cost-containment initiatives.
    • Help promote a culture of safety and compliance with state, federal, Joint Commission, and national patient safety standards.

      Qualifications

      Education
      • High school graduate or equivalent required.
      • Graduate of ARRT approved Radiology Program with a successful completion of a course in radiation therapy; or a graduate of an accredited program in radiation therapy, and must be registry eligible.
      • Must be ARRT registered within 1 year of transfer or hire. 
      Experience
      • Previous experience in Radiation Therapy preferred.
      Licensure
      • ARRT certification required

      • Demonstrates patient confidentiality, sound judgment and professionalism.
      • Exhibits positive intrapersonal skills (Guest relations): over 80% of time is spent interacting with others.
