Summary
The Municipal Account Coordinator will assist the Compliance and Government Affairs teams in providing customer support and ensuring services align with franchise agreements. This role will focus on assisting with account coordination, customer service, and outreach efforts. The position reports to the Director of Program Compliance & Outreach.
Job Description
Assist the Government Affairs team with city service requests, reporting illegal hauling activities, and coordinating assigned tasks.
Support the management of municipal and major accounts, including School Districts, by coordinating account setup, service adjustments, and customer inquiries.
Assist in waste assessments by gathering information on customer needs and recommending appropriate service levels.
Provide customer education on proper waste disposal, recycling programs, and service guidelines.
Coordinate customer outreach efforts related to recycling laws and compliance programs (SB 1383, AB 1826, AB 341, etc.).
Assist with public education and outreach, including distributing materials, attending community events, and presenting recycling information. Some evening and weekend work may be required.
Serve as a point of contact for billing and service-related inquiries, escalating complex issues as needed.
Work closely with Customer Service, Operations, and Finance teams to ensure smooth account handling.
Provide administrative support for reporting, data entry, and compliance tracking.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
2-4 years of customer service or account coordination experience, preferably in municipal or waste management services.
Strong written and oral communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Customer service experience and ability to manage client interactions effectively
Ability to engage with individuals from diverse social, cultural, and economic backgrounds
Willingness to travel within Los Angeles City and County for site visits and outreach activities
Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations
Salary: $27.85 - $32.45/hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
