Position Description
Are you passionate about protecting the environment and making a lasting impact in one of the nation's most innovative cities? Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is seeking an experienced and collaborative Municipal Stormwater Permit Manager to provide strategic leadership and support in the development & implementation of Seattle's NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) Phase I Municipal Stormwater Permit, while supporting other regulatory and water quality-related work at SPU focused on protecting and enhancing the environment.
In this highly visible role, you'll work across City departments to drive regulatory compliance, influence environmental policy and strategy, and advance initiatives that protect and enhance Seattle's waterways. This position is the lead for interpreting Permit requirements, supporting other departments in complying with the Permit, compiling and writing the Annual Report, highlighting successes and elevating challenges associated with the Permit, and coordinating and maintaining a positive relationship with the Department of Ecology and other regulatory agencies.

Qualifications
Experience: Three (3) years of experience in the strategic development and/or implementation of stormwater regulations and/or stormwater management programs or related field
Education: Bachelor's degree in environmental science, planning, policy or engineering or related field
or
Five (5) years of relevant experience may be substituted if applicant does not have a degree
License: Valid Washington State Driver License to operate city vehicle to satellite offices

The pay range for this position is $51.88 - $77.82 per hour ($108,325.44 - $162,488.16 per year)
