Our client is seeking an experienced Murex Tech Support Specialist to provide Level 2 and Level 3 application support for a top-tier financial institution. This role requires deep expertise in Murex platform architecture, Unix/Linux systems, and database management to support critical EOD batch jobs and trading infrastructure.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical support for Murex platform, including troubleshooting application issues, EOD batch job failures, and system performance problems
Debug Murex services and datamart reports; analyze logs and traces to identify root causes and implement solutions
Manage release and environment configuration, including binary upgrades, backup and restore procedures, and production deployments
Administer Unix/Linux infrastructure, disk space, and memory management; troubleshoot operating system-level issues and optimize system performance
Write and maintain Unix shell scripts, Python, and Perl scripts for automation, monitoring, and operational tasks
Support incident and problem management processes; document issues, resolutions, and knowledge base articles for operational continuity
Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams on trade life cycle systems, fixed income, and derivative product support
Requirements
10–15 years of experience with Murex platform and Mx Architecture in a banking or financial services environment
Advanced proficiency in Unix/Linux operating systems, including shell scripting, system administration, and troubleshooting
Strong SQL and Oracle database skills; experience with database tuning, query optimization, and backup/restore operations
Expertise in Python and Perl scripting; experience with Job Scheduler and Unix/Linux tools for batch job automation
Proficiency with SVN, JIRA, and release management tools
Knowledge of trade life cycle processes, fixed income products, and derivative instruments in capital markets
Excellent analytical and debugging skills with strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, production-support environment
