    Description

    Summary

    Employee will assist in the management and maintenance of the Museum's IT and AV infrastructure. A key part of this position is to proactively maintain exhibit interactive and media systems, including PCs, projectors, monitors, touchscreens, RFID hardware, media players, and other AV equipment.

    This position will serve as a first point of contact for tasking relating to first tier exhibit technology repairs and maintenance. The preferred candidate should have a focus on customer service, demonstrate systematic problem-solving methodology, and have a proven work ethic both in a team environment and individually.

    Responsibilities

    • Open the museum using a daily AV checklist
    • Assist in closing the museum as needed
    • Provide preventative maintenance to museum projectors and PCs
    • Replace monitors, touchscreens, projectors, PCs, RFID hardware and other equipment as needed in exhibits and event spaces
    • Spec, set up and configure Windows PCs used in interactive exhibits
    • Support and troubleshoot networked audio, video, and interactive PCs in exhibits, theater, and event spaces
    • Assist with basic IT support for Museum staff
    • Assist in installation of new AV equipment for Museum projects
    • Maintain detailed documentation according to standards provided

    Minimum Education Required

    • Associate degree or A+, Net+ and/or MCITP Certification

    Minimum Experience Required

    • Minimum 4 years AV and/or desktop support experience

    Skills Preferred

    • Experience with Q-SYS, Medialon, Blackmagic, Brightsign, Dante
    • Working knowledge and understanding of audiovisual systems including but not limited to projectors, touchscreens, monitors, microphones, and mixers
    • Knowledge of networking tools and concepts
    • Strong knowledge of electronics and troubleshooting
    • Ability to troubleshoot complex networked audiovisual systems and one of a kind interactives
    • Strong MS Office skills
    • Ability to work in a team environment and individually
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills

    Special Considerations

    Must have the ability to safely lift minimum of 50 lbs.
