The Department of Music seeks organized and reliable student workers for the 2026-2027 academic year. Student assistants will support daily department operations, performance logistics, and administrative tasks.

Depending on departmental needs and student qualifications, duties may be assigned in one or more of the following areas:

  • Choral Music Librarian: Assist with copying and preparing performance materials (in compliance with copyright guidelines) and help organize, catalog, and maintain the choral music library.

  • Instrumental Music Librarian: Assist with copying and preparing performance materials (in compliance with copyright guidelines) and help organize, catalog, and maintain the instrumental music library.

  • Equipment Manager: Oversee music equipment and instruments; lead stage setup and breakdown for rehearsals, recitals, and department events.

  • Office Assistant: Support daily department operations under the direction of the Program Coordinator and Department Chair.

  • Recruitment Assistant: Help coordinate and run department recruitment events (e.g., MMFAD, Lion's Days, Auditions).

Learning Objectives

Students in this role will develop practical professional skills, including:

  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Resource and materials organization
  • Event logistics and task management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with G Suite (Google Docs, Sheets, Drive) and Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Reliability and ability to work independently or as part of a team
