• Responsible for teaching music education to students in grades 4-6
- Assist the staff of the school in the improvement and appreciation of music instruction
- Help students grow in their enjoyment, appreciation, and performance of music through a variety of planned music experiences which include singing, moving to music, playing of instruments
- Have experience teaching beginning instrumental students
- Have positive classroom management techniques, be responsive to student diversity, integrate the arts of various cultures and enjoy working in a rural setting
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, administrators and parents
- Have experience teaching elementary music education methods and designing engaging lessons, units and assessments that correlate to the MA Frameworks for Music
- Have the ability to integrate other academic subjects to increase student understanding of arts and integrated subject matter
- Hold Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education license as an Academic: Teacher, Music: Vocal/Instrumental/General, All Levels
- Implements evaluation procedures using rubrics to assess student progress in all classroom settings, including English language learners and special education inclusion classrooms.
- Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a positive learning atmosphere in the classroom.
- Continuously evaluates and refines instructional strategies, including the effective use of technologies, to increase student learning
COMPENSATION:
$54,373 - $93,870, commensurate with experience
