The Verona Area School District is seeking applicants for the following position:

Music Teacher- Instrumental/Choral

FTE .60

Badge Ridge Middle School (.20 FTE)/Verona Area High School (.40 FTE)

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: instruct, organize, and collaborate with the music program, and provide instruction of students in successful rehearsal and concert performances.

Expectations include:

  • Work closely with other music teachers in the district to establish, develop, and implement 21st Century music standards.
  • Work closely with other Middle School faculty to create and promote cross-curricular instructional strategies and learning.
  • Recruit and retain student engagement in our Music program.
  • Develop and sustain strong connections and relationships with students, staff, families and community.
  • Plan and conduct music group performances throughout the year fostering our scholars' love of music as an integral part of their education.
  • Support the audio recording and sound engineering activities in the building.
  • Well-developed knowledge, skills and experience integrating educational technology as a tool for learning in the classroom is necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Must have appropriate DPI music certification
  • Bilingual in Spanish highly preferred.
  • Experience or knowledge with the components of personalized learning a plus.
  • Experience with culturally relevant pedagogy
  • Experience with middle and high school students preferred
  • Experience with PBIS preferred.

Bilingual (Spanish) skills are prioritized
