Summary: Newton South High School is hiring a Music Theory Instructor to teach a semester long Honors Music Theory course. Candidates should have experience teaching at the High School Level. This is a .1 Position.

Qualifications:

  • Appropriate DESE teaching license, including SEI endorsement
  • Ability to handle a multitude of varying and complex issues
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle a multitude of varying and complex issues
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with numerous building stakeholders

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Majority of work is performed in a school / classroom / performance hall environment.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the teacher is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, talk, and hear. The teacher is regularly required to bend, stoop, crouch and/or kneel. The teacher is occasionally required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
