Music Therapist (Must be Board Certified)

Job Summary

Working as a core member of our interdisciplinary hospice team, you will meet patients right where they are—in their homes or care facilities—tailoring music therapy interventions to help alleviate pain, ease anxiety, encourage self-expression, and bring dignity to their journey.

How You'll Make an Impact:

• Design Personalized Care: Conduct individualized assessments and create custom treatment plans focused on easing physical symptoms, encouraging emotional expression, and supporting psychological well-being.
• Deliver Meaningful Interventions: Direct instrumental, vocal, guided imagery, and relaxation techniques that engage patients and involve family members in comforting, therapeutic experiences.
• Collaborate as an Interdisciplinary Teammate: Partner closely with physicians, nurses, social workers, and chaplains in IDT case conferences to weave music therapy seamlessly into the broader plan of care.
• Observe & Elevate Patient Care: Analyze patient responses to therapeutic music experiences, continuously refining your approach to maximize comfort and relief.
• Mentor & Lead: Guide and supervise care team interns, students, and volunteers who are passionate about the healing power of music therapy.

What We’re Looking For:

• Education & Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy from an accredited program and current Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) credential required.
• Clinical Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of professional music therapy experience required, with a strong preference for hospice, palliative care, or home health environments.
• Autonomous & Self-Directed: Exceptional problem-solving skills, strong time management, and the ability to work independently in the field.
• Warm Customer Service & Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to build quick, trusting connections with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
