    Music & Movement Classroom Teacher – Part-Time
    In-Person | Pasadena | Starting at $30/hr

Encore Music, a thriving and community-rooted music school with two vibrant locations, is excited to welcome a new Classroom Teacher to work with students on the Autism Spectrum! This position is ideal for a passionate educator or musician who wants to make a real difference—and it can also be a perfect stepping stone for someone who may later pursue Board Certification in Music Therapy (MT-BC).

You’ll be leading Tuesday and Thursday classroom sessions at a school for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), using music and movement to support social, emotional, and cognitive growth. Board Certification is not required to start, but prior experience working with special needs populations is strongly preferred.

    Compensation:

    • $30-$35/hour for direct instruction

    • Paid administrative duties at a non-instructional rate

    • Opportunity to join our Music Therapy program once board certified

    Your Role:
Lead engaging, goal-oriented music and movement sessions tailored to students with ASD
Collaborate with school staff to adapt activities and meet individual needs
Create a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment

    What We Offer:

    • Paid onboarding and training (assessments/observations begin in August; full teaching schedule starts September)

    • Dental insurance, accrued paid time off, and professional development assistance

    • In-person teaching only—no extra travel between multiple sites during the day

    • A collaborative work culture

    Who You Are:
Strong background in music, movement, or arts education
Comfortable working with neurodiverse populations and adapting lessons to different learning styles
    Organized, communicative, and reliable
Excited to make a meaningful impact through creativity and connection
    Timeliness is key!

    Bonus if you can also:

    • Play and teach a secondary instrument

    • Lead small group music or dance classes

    • Have experience in classroom management or special education

    To Apply:
Please send your resume and a brief cover letter including:

    • Your primary instrument and any others you teach

    • Any group classes you’d love to offer

    • A short description of your teaching approach and experience with special needs populations

    Compensation: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
