Location: Milwaukee, WI (Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week)

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM CT

Duration: 6-Month Contract with Strong Potential for Full-Time Conversion

Pay: $30–$35/hour on W2

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented Mutual Fund Accountant to join a collaborative accounting team supporting mutual fund operations. This is an excellent opportunity for accounting or finance professionals looking to build a career within the investment management and financial services industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger and accounting records for mutual funds.
• Prepare daily journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Perform bank and cash reconciliations.
• Assist with daily Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations.
• Process expense accruals and payment postings.
• Support portfolio pricing reviews and valuation validations.
• Perform portfolio and cash reconciliations.
• Process corporate actions and investment-related transactions.
• Prepare and distribute financial information to internal and external stakeholders.
• Partner with internal teams, custodians, transfer agents, and auditors.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Assist with month-end and year-end accounting activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred (Associate's degree with relevant experience will also be considered).
• 1–2 years of accounting or finance experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy.
• Curiosity and willingness to learn new processes and investment accounting concepts.
