Job Description

BCforward is seeking a Mutual Funds Specialist to support U.S. Bank Global Fund Services as a Transfer Agent. The role requires experience in financial services or banking and the ability to manage shareholder inquiries, process transactions, and serve as a point of contact for internal and external clients. The position trains onsite and then converts to a hybrid schedule with multiple shifts available.

Work Schedule and Training

  • Training: Approximately 8 weeks, fully onsite, 5 days per week.
  • Training hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30/5:00 PM, with two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch.
  • Post-training schedule: Hybrid, 3 days onsite per week.
  • Multiple shifts required, examples include 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM, 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM.
  • Overtime optional and available.

About U.S. Bank Global Fund Services (GFS)

GFS provides fund administration, compliance, legal administration, fund accounting, fulfillment, distribution and marketing, custody, securities lending, transfer agent and shareholder services, and alternative investment product services. The team enables fund sponsors to focus on investing while GFS protects business interests and minimizes risks.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as Transfer Agent liaison for mutual fund and alternative investment companies and their shareholders.
  • Accept and process telephone transactions and maintenance requests from institutional shareholders; field inquiries from retail shareholders as required.
  • Respond to inquiries on account setup, prior transactions, fund objectives, performance, minimums, options, and account balances.
  • Process new accounts, purchases, redemptions, exchanges, and account maintenance in line with department guidelines.
  • Initiate customer or account financial transactions and adjustments as authorized.
  • Calculate and process exact share trades, determine dividend distribution amounts, and reconcile account balances.
  • Provide prompt notification of trade activity to internal and external clients; serve as a primary point of contact.
  • Participate in continuous improvement, risk-based thinking, and employee engagement initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Background in financial services or banking.
  • Ability to collect, interpret, and apply diverse client, fund, and regulatory information.
  • Proficient mathematical and computer skills with high attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in mutual fund transfer agency or shareholder services.
  • Familiarity with fund accounting processes and compliance guidelines.
